A Field Trip to Hell: Experience the 30 torments of hell firsthand without having to stay for eternity

God was Not Finished with Me Yet
How could a loving God allow, let alone order, something like this in my life when I was at least trying to take a stand for him, trying to do right, and trying to do his will? I was not perfect, and I never used my imperfection as an excuse, but I was trying to be a good witness. I could not come to grips with the fact that this was the way that my life was going to end. I began reading the Bible throughout the day and listening to the Christian televisions stations. Every message I turned on was about how God was going to heal me and raise me up off of my bed of affliction because he was not done with me yet. I just knew these preachers were talking specifically to me and my situation. And needing a word of encouragement, especially at that time, I took those words to heart. When I woke up on the second day in the hospital, I was surprised that I lived through the night. I praised and thanked God for another day that was not promised, and I whispered to myself, “The dream is still alive. I’ve still got time left on the clock.” So I decided to praise and thank God every day he wakes me up in the morning. That same day, while I was lying awake in the bed, an old cleaning lady mopped her way into my room. She put her mop down next to my bed, grabbed me by the hands, and began praying for me in the name of Jesus Christ. I don’t remember everything she said, but I do remember her praying with an African accent. “God, in the name of Jesus, heal him because the devil is trying to take his life because he has a calling on his life. And God, use him for your praise, honor, and glory.”
When she finished praying, a peace came over my entire body as if someone had poured cold water on me from my head that slowly trickled down to my feet. Tears flowed from my eyes because of her gesture of love. The old lady went out of my room, and I never saw her again. When the doctor came in to take my blood pressure, he was amazed at the results. He said, “I don’t understand what just happened,” as he kept looking at the pressure gauge to make sure it was working properly and that he was reading it right. Even though he saw major improvement in my condition, he wanted me to stay in the hospital one more day. Another EKG showed the size of my heart had gone down, and my appetite began coming back. I knew for sure that God had miraculously healed my body and raised me up from my bed of affliction as the television preachers said he would do. I came into the intensive care unit in a wheelchair, and now two days later (three day’s altogether) I was walking out after being released to go home due to my improved condition. My appetite had returned and I began gaining my weight back slowly but surely.
It seems that when I read Psalms 37:23, “The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord, and He delights in his way,” I had failed to read the next verse, “Though he fall, he shall not be utterly cast down: For the Lord upholds him with His hand.” The Word of God connected with my personal traumatic experience, letting me know that a loving God allowed me to go through what I went through. He loved me and did not leave me hanging. At this point I stopped questioning why God allowed me to go through what I went through and began questioning myself as to why he allowed me to survive it. I knew if I could answer this second question I could figure out what my destiny in Christ was. There simply had to be purpose and a reason.
